Thank you so much. This was a real wedding with limited time so I am happy with the result

The elegance of this bride in her beautiful gown captured with a backdrop of a cloudy sky, is truely awe-inspiring. This is a very beautiful photo!

Location
This photo was a last minute stop at a beach is Tsawassen BC between the wedding ceremony and reception.Time
I don't remember the exact time of day but I know from the clouds that it was going to rain soon!Lighting
I used one on-camera flash and I had my partner hold second off camera flash to the right. We were only at the beach for a short time so everything was hand held and mobile.Equipment
I never use a tripod or light stands on location shoots for weddings. I used two flashes, one on board and one off camera.Inspiration
Usually with the type of clients I get it is very run and gun so you have very little time for set up or execution. We were only at this beach location for a short time. I was immediately drawn to the driftwood and wanted to shoot my bride atop. This shot probably took less than two minutes to set up and take.Editing
I think I lightened the subject and darkened the background a little in post while maintaining contrast. In my camera bag
Canon 5DIII and 24-70 f2.8 as a starting point but it depends on the shooting situation.Feedback
I don't remember the actual settings, but I would set my camera to capture the ambient scene (background) as I liked it (slightly under) and then take a shot using flash on E-TTL. Review the result and adjust flash as required (in this case increase it). If +1-3 is not enough then switch flash to manual and test. Also while doing test shots check off camera flash position for position, shadows etc and adjust if necessary.
