This shot was taken on September 11 from the Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJTime
Right after sunset was the best time to capture this shot so the clouds would still be visible in the sky and create this "instant God connection" like in the sky. I really wanted to capture the emotion behind the picture and the connection to the higher force.Lighting
A study tripod and exposure was the key to this shot.Equipment

The "American dream" with this view is what inspired me to come to this country in the first place; I wanted to capture the strength of the image and the emotion of the American spirit.Editing

I usually have a pretty pack bag when it comes to a planned photo excursion ; one or 2 camera bodies with at least my Nikon d750, a few different lenses (telephoto, 80/300mm 2.4, 28/70mm 2.4, wide angle), extra battery and memories, a flashlight, a lightweight tripod. however, on that day, I was simply a typical New Yorker on a mission to catch that special shot at night, my D7000 Nikon camera around my neck, a solid tripod and this shooting angle caught my eye.Feedback
A tripod, a lot of patience and a lens that can capture well in low light, like a 2.4.
