Location
This photo was taken on the iconic Cable Beach. The beach is in Broome in far north-west Western Australia. Broome has a population of 15,000, growing to 50,000 in the peak tourist season. Broome is one of two major towns in The Kimberley. This is a very remote area of Australia. Broome was originally a pearling town but is now mainly a tourist destination due to its pristine environment.Time
Sunset is the most beautiful time of day in The Kimberley. Nearly all sunsets are colourful. The beach in summer are nearly deserted - not many tourists.Lighting
For photography, sunrise and sunset are the best time to photograph without a circular polarising filter. Broome, The Kimberley is very close to the equator, in far north-west Western Australia, so sunlight is very strong.Equipment

I was walking along Cable Beach taking photos of the sunset when I came across a family just coming out of the surf. The father had put the surfboard down on the sand and I was mesmerised by the contrast of colours between the surfboard and the sunset.Editing

Cleaning cloth and brush , when I know I am going to a sandy area I will also pack a hand blower has I prefer to use that to get any sand of the lens filter. spare filter, spare battery, spare memory card. I usually pack a landscape lens and my faithful 24-105mm. I find the 24-105mm so versatile.Feedback
Enjoy your surroundings. So many photgraphers are so wrapped up in getting THE shot that they forget to enjoy.
