Leading lines, picture in equilibrium , well balanced. The fact that the cobble stones and road being wet adds to the dynamics of the photo. Overall, great capture!

Great internal framing. Lead-in lines. B&W well-done love the left-sided building curves. Almost palpable cobble-stone texture.

this is so strange.. we were in munich three weeks ago and took a picture in this tunnel. Mine was back farther but it was a cool view from inside there.

Location
While walking the streets of Munich, Germany with a mass of other likeminded bus trip people.Time
This shot was taken around lunch time. We had just witnessed the Glockenspiel chime and were heading for the Hofrauhaus. We were on a bus trip through Europe - seeing so many amazing places. But Munich was one of my favourites. The people are so welcoming. The city is abuzz with tourists and workers alike.Lighting
My lighting issue was in fact keeping the shadow. I wanted the woman to stay a silhouette. I feel this is the essence of the scene. The mystery. The anonymity. So no flash. I chose ISO 400 to draw in a bit more lightEquipment
My trusty Canon 600D EOS Digital SLR in company with my Canon 24-105mm f/4 IS L series lens.Inspiration
We had just left the Rathaus-Glockenspiel in Marienplatz, in the heart of Munich. Every day at 11 a.m it chimes and re-enacts two stories from the 16th century to the amusement of mass crowds of tourists and locals. It consists of 43 bells and 32 life-sized figures. We were heading for the famous Hofbräuhaus, one of Munichs oldest breweries. I glanced up this tunnel along one of the cobblestoned streets and saw this image. I was mesmerised. What was in the ladies bags? Was she taking home lunch or dinner?.Was there a romantic rendezvous?Editing
I am a believer of not doing too much editing. I prefer to see the image as the eye sees it. But, this time I did crop and changed the image from colour to black and white. This was to allow the eye to concentrate on the textures of the cobblestone, the silhouette of the woman and the beauty of the curved road behind her.In my camera bag
I always have either my Canon 600d EOS SLR or my Canon 5D Mk II SLR. The lens, well that is complicated. Depending on what I plan to shoot - inevitably I say "I wish I had my ....lens". So I have learnt - if practical - I will also pack two lenses. One for landscape, one for closer work. Then, I always have two batteries and two Memory cards - I always prefer to err on the side of caution. The relevant lens hood and lens cleaning cloth are always packed.Feedback
I had not really dappled in street photography. But there were so many people and places we came across while walking through the towns and cities of Europe I couldn't resist taking photos of these people and places. I can only say, always keep your eye out for THAT image. The one that excites you, draws you in, makes you wonder, makes you say "wow". Don't be afraid to experiment with the camera settings.
