Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary Mysore.

Time

This was taken at around 9 AM on a gloomy day.

Lighting

Gloomy day and hence great lighting conditions. wanted the viewer drawn more to the Red/orange pollen and a hint of tentacles in the background to complete the mood.

Equipment

Canon EOS 600D, 55-250 stock camera lens.

Inspiration

My intention was to NOT shoot yet another monotonous flower photo. This wildflower showed so much variation that I knew in my head what needs to be highlight and what stays in the background with a little blur. Red/orange against white never fails :)

Editing

EOS 600D is known to underplay color and hence needed a colour boost in post processing.

In my camera bag

I carry the basic Canon EOS 600D Camera with stock 55-250mm, 50mm with a Polaroid wide angle add on.

Feedback

Vary the angles and play with Depth of Field when shooting flowers. You'll be surprised at the variety a flower allows you to explore.
