Location
this photo was taken at volunteer point Falkland IslandsTime
I think it would have been early afternoon, as it is about a 3-4 hours drive from Stanley by land rover 4x4Lighting
been in the Falkland islands the lighting is normally good, but on this day the sun was just right for meEquipment
this shot was with a Nikon D3100 with a 70-300mm lens f5-6 and iso 360 no tripod or flashInspiration
I was photographing the king penguins, and this just looked as if it would make a nice photoEditing
just cropped it a bitIn my camera bag
Nikon D3100 body (as I normally use a Nikon D5300 now) 18-55mm lens and 55-200mm sd cards and a cleaning kitFeedback
if you are like me when I go away photographing, there is a lot off patients and sitting around for the right light, and the subject to be where you want it. I don't normally go for one specific subject but as for the king penguins that is all I was photographing that day.
