This is masterful work by all. Should be wallpaper design for all to see. For some reason I'm craving Skiddles. Again, love your work and the commitment of your models!

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my studio in San Jose, CA

Time

6pm

Lighting

This was lit by a 48" parabolic umbrella above and slightly behind the models.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon 5DmkII with a 24-105mm f/4L lens at 45mm. The strobe was a Einstein.

Inspiration

This is a variation on a series of multiple body bodyscapes I had done the previous year. I wanted to continue the series and decided to do the same poses but with painted models.

Editing

There is minimal post-processing to this image. I did remove a tattoo from the small of the back on the orange painted model.

In my camera bag

Canon 5DmkII, Canon 17-40mm F/4L, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, Canon 580 strobe, 4 pocket wizards, intervalometer, CamRanger, lots of memory cards, batteries, and business cards.

Feedback

This type of shot took months of planning. Bodypainting seven models takes a full day so set expectations with the models and any assistants that it is going to be a 12-14 hour day. Pre-plan as many poses as you can, that will help you shoot quickly when everybody is tired after the long day of bodypainting.
