This town on the Svir River is our next stop on our Russian travels. The town was destroyed in WWII but was rebuilt in 1996 by Sergei Gutzeit as an open air Museum of traditional Russian Villages. It is home to unique and colorful painted wooden houses, farms and handmade craftsmen of all sorts.
