Location
Taken at the Bronx Zoo.Time
Around noon.Lighting
Outdoor available light on a sunny day.Equipment
I used Canon70D and very old Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS for this shot (No tripod, 1/500)Inspiration
This is one of 20+ shots of this birds as he (she?) struck one pose after another. It seemed that subject was posing just for me.Editing
I shoot Raw and use Lightroom 5 to convert to jpg. I really did not manipulate anything for this shot.In my camera bag
It depends. When I go outside, I bring my Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS and Tamron 60mm F2.0 macro lens and Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 for general purpose. When shooting indoor (babies, museum art, food) I like to use Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II, Canon 24-70mm F2.8.Feedback
I am still learning and I rent equipment to learn and evaluate different lenses. Patience, opportunity, advance planing for events or locations may result in having right equipment. For this effect, I needed to zoom in with relatively wide aperture.
