The San Francisco Hot Springs about 50 miles west of Silver City just south of the town of Glenwood. Moderate hike of about one and a half miles. Three natural sand bottom pools along the edge of the San Francisco River of various temperatures. Clothing optional.
The river’s year-round flows and relatively undisturbed landscape support a large number of unique species, including:
Many threatened and endangered species, including birds such as the Southwestern willow flycatcher; native fish such as the loach minnow and spikedace; the Chiricahua leopard frog; and the Mexican gray wolf;
Large stands of Fremont and narrow-leaf cottonwood trees, Arizona sycamore, and mesquite bosque at lower elevations; and
a population of approximately 80 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, transplanted from Banff, Canada, in 1964 after the native desert bighorn sheep had been driven from the area early in the twentieth century.

I like how the cows in the distance help show the vastness of the area.

I liked the way this landscape takes ones eyes all the way to the horizon only to then settle on the middle of the composition where the cattle are.

Thanks for the vote. It is surprising that we have any green as it is June and we have had only .39 inches of rain for the year.
