Today was my lucky day. I was at the secondary beaver pond to photograph a kingfisher when I heard some snorting. I turned around to see what it was and lo and behold, it was a river otter on the end of a log eating a sculpin. The river otter was NOT pleased to see me, but he was so enjoying eating his fish, he decided to continue eating. After he finished eating, he showed me his displeasure about my being there, by flashing his teeth at me and snorting! He then entered the water and swam towards me snorting the whole time. At the last moment he dived under water and came up at a different location, still snorting. Clearly that river otter had never heard my hubby SNORE!!!

Thanks. I'm just lucky that the river otter was more interested in his fish than me standing there photographing him. It truely is a once in a life time shot because it was the first time in 25 years that I actually came upon the river otter in the beaver pond.
