This is Lower Pine Creek Lake in the Sierra Nevada. The trail to this spot is grueling, hot, steep and exposed. Beyond this lake you encounter Pine Creek Pass and then descend into French Canyon.Time

On our way up the trail, I was so in love with this lake and the beauty of the colors and variety of textures. There were lots of clouds passing over the sun and I just couldn't get the lighting I wanted. On the way back, the sky was completely clear and the scene was even more beautiful than the first time I saw it. I think I took 20 pictures of this lake!Editing
