Texas Horned Lizard is the Official Texas State Reptile. Often called Texas Horned Toad it is 2 to 5 inches long, stays on the ground during the day and buries itself in the sand at night. Diet is mostly ants, usually docile however it can squirt blood from its eyes and the corner of it mouth for defense if necessary. This one was captured at Fort Meyers.
