Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Milnerton Lagoon one morning while waiting to visit a friend. It was a chance encounter with the dogs being walked without leads. Their sheer joy at chasing everything is very evident.

Time

It was about 10am. I had been waiting to visit a friend and was a bit early so I bumbled down to the lagoon to see if there was anything interesting.

Lighting

I must admit to worrying a little about the light. It was a bit 'glary' if that's a term. I did edit it down a little.

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon EOA 750D using my 300 mm lense.

Inspiration

There was this joy that the dogs were exuding. It made me want to track them and take image after image to to capture the wildness and the playfulness. They were chasing birds mainly but not doing any harm.

Editing

I did do a little post processing just to reduce the glare a little. I prefer to show my images as close to how I saw them with my eye so I don't go for too much post-processing generally.

In my camera bag

I am an amateur photographer so I just have my Canon 759D and two lenses. My 300mm and my 55mm. I have a spare flash and in my car I always carry my tripod for just in case but I don't use it very often.

Feedback

My advise is take the picture anyway. Even if you think it might not translate or that the lighting could be a bit off, take the picture anyway.
