..... A male and female Wood Duck .....Believe me when i tell you ...they don't know I am right behind them ....and in this instant they saw me and bolted like a bat out of hell ....these are very wild Wood Ducks and they are skittish ....any movement and they simply take flight. I am obviously hiding in the forest shooting through the grasses ....Judged by some to be the 2nd most beautiful duck in the world only behind the Mandarin which surprisingly is its close cousin though it exists in the opposite part of the planet in Asia ....these ducks were on the verge of extinction and once existed in every river and creek all over North America ....still kind of rare to see around here in Oklahoma
