Behind The Lens

Location

The picture was taken on one of the many Danish islands. To be more precise, it's the island of ÆRØ. These historic bathhouses are listed and are particularly iconic for Ærø.

Time

We were invited for the weekend to celebrate our friends silver wedding. They had rented a very nice hostel called Femmasteren, where we stayed with all their other guests. After a really nice breakfast buffet, we went for a walk to take a closer look at the town of Marstal, where the five-mast (Femmasteren) is located. I had completely forgotten that there were these cute, iconic bathhouses in this city as well as in Ærøskøbing. So I was happy when I saw them.

Lighting

There is often a special light on the Danish islands and of course I take advantage of that. In the old days, danish painters flocked to the islands to paint and express themselves artistically.

It was just so incredibly beautiful that I couldn't resist taking a picture of it.
