The Caracara is an opportunistic bird, feeding on both carrion and live prey. Rodents, young birds, turtles, lizards, frogs, eggs, worms and insects are on the menu. Several Caracaras can sometimes work together to kill larger prey. In addition, the Caracara also feasts on washed-up fish and dead game.
