Behind The Lens

Location

In the cold North of Luxembourg, near a lone country road. It is not called Eislek for nothing

Time

In the afternoon, when the clouds shortly opened up from dark grey to light above the horizon

Lighting

Provided by wind and weather and no sun.

Equipment

My battleproof D4 and a bog standard 24;70 Nikkor which is as worn as the camera. My tripod is 10000 kms away at home in the Americas &bt;(

Inspiration

Actually I was looking for birds of prey and when I saw the magic light I took a few shots of the nearby country road instead

Editing

Did a gentle BW conversion in Exposure 6, my all time favourite for natural looking BW.

In my camera bag

In european winter, i usually carry a standard zoom, which is 24-70 or 24-35 and a bird lens :). My 85 mm in case of poor light . Ad4 and the d500 for birds.

Feedback

Keep an open mind, even if everything looks grey and dark. If you see a nice winter scenery don't wait.
