Location
I took this from the side walk of West End bridge in Pittsburgh, Pa while shooting through a hole in the fence.Time
My son was home for college and we decided to get up early one cold December morning to go get some photo's of Pittsburgh from a location we have never shot from before. We were there well before sun rise and we ended up staying until well after the sun came up but this was my favorite shot from that morning.Lighting
This shot was just as the sun was coming up. At first I was a little upset the sun wasn't rising behind the building but I actually like the way the light is entering from the right side of the shot.Equipment
Shot this with my Nikon D7500 and Sigma 17-502.8 lensInspiration
My son inspired me to get this shot. I'm not a morning person. At all. But he was home from college for Christmas break and he wanted to get up to take some sunrise photos of Pittsburgh. So if it wasn't for him I would not have this taken this image.Editing
I under exposed this image on purpose and had to adjust the levels and exposure in Lightroom. In my camera bag
For shoots like this I always bring my Nikon D7500, a wide angle lens and a super wide angle lens so that I can capture the entire scene.Feedback
My advice to capture something similar is to just get out there and shoot some sunrises. Even if you aren't a morning person, you just may get a winning image like this one.
