Congratulations on your challenge. Love how the water and foggy background melt together. You had some really tough competition. Well Done!

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Loyalhanna lake in Westmoreland County Pennsylvania.

Time

I took this photo early one morning in the fall. The fog was incredibly thick and enveloped everything.

Lighting

The lighting was tough for this photo. The for was so thick it blanketed everything. I had to wait patiently for breaks in the fog to be able to see and photograph my landscapes.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7400 and a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 on a Proline Tripod.

Inspiration

I decided to get up early because i felt the need to get some fall foliage photos. So I loaded up my truck with all my gear and headed out not knowing where i was going to go. I literally came to a crossroads left to one lake, right to another. I maade the left and got some of most favorite photos ever.

Editing

I used Lightroom to edit the RAW photo.

In my camera bag

I don't have a tremendous amount of gear so it almost all fits in my MindShift camera back pack. I always pack my D7500 and all my lenses: Sigma 17-50 2.8, Nikkor 10-20mm, Nikkor 50mm 1.8, and my Nikkor zoom 100-300.

Feedback

My advice is simple: Get out and take some chances. You just never know what you may end up with.
