Behind The Lens

Location

I take this photo near my daughter's house. it's a beautiful countryside in the Limousin, near Brive la Gaillarde (Corrèze). My daughter is a dressmaker, She made this dress and some others, and she asked me to do some pictures for her website ; https://petiteannecouture.fr/

Time

It was a beautiful summer day, at the end of the afternoon, when the light was softer but very clear.

Lighting

Whe wanted a very natural light. The photo is simple but the staging is a bit sophisticated in a vintage style to highlight the dress and the model. We played the contrast between the nature with the tall green grasses and the old black car against the white dress whith the red dots of cherries.

Equipment

I use a Nikon D 300 S with a Nikkor 16- 85 mm for this photo without any filter, we were looking for a natural photo.

Inspiration

My daughter is a dressmaker, She made this dress and some others, and she asked me to do some pictures for her website ; https://petiteannecouture.fr/ So, often, I try to help her to present her creations with original photos. I like that !

Editing

I use often Lightroom, but, for this picture, I did very few corrections because we would like to keep a natural way. So, I used just a little clarity and contrast.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D300S, two zoom lenses : Nikkor DX 16-85 mm, Nikkor 70-200mm VR II, a teleconverter Nikon. A benco tripod with a Manfrotto head. A nisi filters holder V6 with a polarizer filter and some long exposure filters.

Feedback

To do all these fashion photos is like agame, I"m not a specialist. It's funny to create a special atmospher for every clothing. Most of the time, my daughter knows how she wants hightlight her creations, so I follow her ideas. It's very pleasant to do ! we are having a lot of fun !
