Behind The Lens

Location

I love Yellowstone Park. There are a lot of things to see : large landscapes, animals, wonderful colors, but also some details like this photo which is just a part of a great and famous spot : The Grand Prismatic Spring.I I left aside the blue lake that characterizes this place often seen from above and I decided to focus on it with a different angle.

Time

At the end of the morning. I made several photos with these orange and brown tones. it was exciting

Lighting

It was a pleasant day, with a good light and the colors are so magic there that it's possible to take photos at any time

Equipment

I always use the same camera : my Nikon D 300S and 16-85 mm Nikkor

Inspiration

The patterns and colors, a different way of seeing this famous spot.

Editing

Lightroom landscape : emphasis and sharpness to enhance contours and colors

In my camera bag

Always the same : a tripod, filters, nikkor 16 - 85 mm and Nikkor 70 - 200 mm.Nikon Teleconverter. It's perfect when you travel, but it would be better to also have a fixed focal length for a superior quality

Feedback

Sometimes see the details is very interesting, even in a fabulous landscape. Everywhere, it's hard to forget the images we have in mind, seen thousands of times, and looking for an other way is not easy, but sometimes it's work. Thank you everybody for choosing this photo for this theme. It was amazing to discover this people's choice !
