Location
This is near the Mouth of the mighty Murray River in South Australia. It is the largest river system in Australia covering a drainage area of four states. Qld , NSW, VIC and SA. It is at Goolwa South Australia. The ocean is the Indian Ocean and then next stop, Antartica. In November the sea is still quite wild. This is at the north end of the beach taken from the top of the sand dunes at the end of a walkway. Sometimes the river silts completely closed and they have to dredge a channel opening. the river drains into a large lake and the coastal area known as the Coorongs, an area of great beauty ,bird life and ecological significance.Time
Late afternoon as I arrived late and the weathers closing in , just enough time to do the walk before the rain.Lighting
I was lucky enough get a clear window in the weather and was happy to get the contrast of the sand and sky.Equipment
Nixon 850. lens 18-300 , ultra violet filter.Inspiration
I walked to the end of the path at the top of the dunes and the vast ocean and long beach was just a WOW ! I tried to compose this feeling of sand, sky and ocean so that it looked interesting. I took several shots but I liked this the best .Editing
I very rarely use post processing. I don't have the programs. i do have the computers photo enhancer and i always look if my horizon is ok on it or if any shadows need lifting. I try to keep to the original. In my camera bag
the usual lenses 12-28 , and if I'm looking for wild life or birds i take 200-500. Always carry charged spare batteries.Feedback
Enjoy what you do .. Always carry your camera, some shots on an I phone are worth keeping so have that too .
