Pic 2.
A raptor, Eurasian Marsh Harrier and its kill, glossy ibis.
In this pic, the raptor tried to fly away with its kill, but dropped it, as the other boat tours were approaching nearer (and kites around).
We had booked a boat tour for flamingos watching at Bhigwan. They are migratory birds here during winter in MH, India.
Our boat tour operator, Sagar, saw the raptor and diverted the boat, he insisted that we better get one good pic of a raptor in action than the flamingos which are usually in one position.
Such kills are of rare insight.
So, I feel, that waking up early and leaving for a far-off destination was worth it.
This was also clicked from the boat ride.

Very large wing span, and powerful legs. It appears to have been feeding when it had to take off with its prey. lovely image.

Thank you so much.... :) You are right. The aggression of the eagle before it flew away was scary. There were 3 Kites trying to get the catch.
