Pic 1
Southern masked weaver male have several female partners, and build a succession of nests, typically 25 each season. When he is finished, the male advertises the residence to potential mates with fluttering wings and song, but females are picky and select only the freshest, finest abodes.

It was a nice experience to see a nest being built.

Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken in Tropical Birdland in Leicestershire, UK
Time
It was taken at noon at 12.30 pm.
Lighting
It was a cloudy day additionally the specific area was a covered area, in the aviary, so further light was limited. I haven't used any additional flash or reflector just bumped the ISO to maintain high shutter speed.
Equipment
I have only one lens usually attached to the camera,so I use the same every time. :) A Nikon D 5300 with 55-300mm lens. It's a handheld shot.
Inspiration
I always wanted to get bird with fully expanded wings. In natural habitat it might be very difficult to view so closely. But here they were just at 50 feet away and engrossed in their design. We took several shots. A few of them were quite well.
Editing
Not much. Basic raw adjustment and a bit of cropping.
In my camera bag
Just a D5300, kit lenses, a prime lens, a spare battery and a card. I always have a lens cleaning cloth.. Recently, my old man has brought a tripod for me...so that is an addition to my bag.
Feedback
I do not have authority to advice but still ...... I believe..... No place, no gadget, no software is important. Only your view point is important... the way you look at the world is always unique. We should try to show that uniqueness, that's it. Isn't it ? :)
