Location
I took this photo on the 1st of January 2019 at the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.Time
It was early in the afternoon and the sun was already not that high anymore.Lighting
It's just natural winter light on a sunny day with some clouds in the sky. As you see I shot against the sun and tried to find a good compromise between shadows and light to save the details in the sky.Equipment
I used a Fujifilm X-T2 and the Fujinon 23mm f/1.4 together with a polarizer handheld. I'm very happy that my polarizer didn't have any problems with the sunlight so the quality of the flare was still very good.Inspiration
Me and my girlfriend started this kind of photos some holidays before and wherever we found some nice places we try to take a photo with this kind of style.Editing
As for most of my photos just the normal RAW-processing, this time with Capture One.In my camera bag
I have a Fujifilm X-T2 and some prime lenses in my bag, some ND and GND-filters and a Sirui tripod.Feedback
If you shoot against light have a look at your exposure value (EV) and your histogram to find a good compromise between the dark zone in the front and the bright sky in the back. It's important to know what your camera sensor can recover from the shadows in the end. Also shoot in RAW to have the best highlight and shadow recovery when you need it.
