I took this photo on Scotland's beautiful Isle of Skye, more specifically in the near of Portree where you can find this awesome rock formation - the Old Man of Storr.Time
This was at the afternoon, right before sunset. Because it was the 1st of January the daylight hours were not that many.Lighting
We had luck that there was some rain in front of us so the sunset looked even more spectacular due to that wet air. Some minutes before we had a wonderful rainbow on the left side out of the frame.Equipment
I used my X-T2 and Fuji's 23mm f/1.4 prime lens. I have to say I love that combination because the lens is great to handle and the image quality is awesome. Also I love the 35mm FF-equivalent field of view for scenes like these.Inspiration
The rock formation I've already seen on so many photos before and also in the rain the day before.Editing
This time I didn't use a GND-filter but made 5 exposures which I combined with Aurora HDR 2019 and also tweaked the colors and temperature with that program. In my camera bag
My Fujifilm X-T2, some prime lenses and now also two Fuji zoom lenses.Feedback
If you have to hike to such a place for a sunset and it rains at the beginning don't give up to early. Sometimes rain can cause the most spectacular sunsets, of course you need some luck - when there is an absolut overcast sky it will not be that colorful as you hoped for.
