There was a ray of light lighting up a small spot on the ground like a spotlight so it was just for me to wait for the lepard to walk in that light. To get the the look i was after i changed settings in camera to underexpose a lot.Equipment
Picture was shot with Canon 7D Mark II and Canon EF 100-400/4,5-5,6L IS II USM lens, no other equipment was usedInspiration
I often use reflections from animals coming from sunlight to get dramatic light and big contrast. Therefore i'm always on the lookout for light spots that can be used for these reflections.Editing
I do the most of this effect in camera and in post i make the black even stronger and ad more contrast. In my camera bag
I usually have two cameras with me one with my favorite lens canon Canon EF 100-400/4,5-5,6 L IS II USM and one with Canon EF 24-105/4,0 L IS II USM in that way i come prepared for motives that are close or far away. I also have extra memory cards, batteries and a light wight tripod.Feedback
This kind of photo can be taken with any kind of animals/birds that reflect sunligt most effect you get with animals that have wite or other light colours in them. It also work with dark and even black animals but then you don't need to underexpose so much as with lighter animals.
