Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Kurile Lake in Kamchatka

Time

Photo was taken early in the morning

I used my Canon 5D mark IV with Canon EF 100-400/4,5-5,6 L IS II USM lens.

Inspiration

This was one of the shoots i wanted to have when going to Kamchatka to photograph bears. Showing both power, grace and determination of the bear coming charging directly towards the camera.

Editing

No special post-processing just adding some contrast to picture

In my camera bag

I usually have two cameras with me one with my favorite lens canon Canon EF 100-400/4,5-5,6 L IS II USM and one with Canon EF 24-105/4,0 L IS II USM in that way i come prepared for motives that are close or far away. I also have extra memory cards, batteries and a light wight tripod.

Feedback

Since this is a picture of an wild animal you need to have patiance and also a bit of luck to capture the moment you are lokking for. When you are phographing animals often you can increase you chanses by observing and learning how to predict what is going to happen before it happens. The skill to predict events will increase your chances to catch the action shot that is gone in a split second.
