What a great shot...and your model has a great disposition. We'd be nothing without our adventurous models :)

Ashley is awesome. I leave each shoot with her, wearing a smile that lasts for days. :)

Location
Middletown, Connecticut. I post up on one of the model forums that I had an umbrella, a waterfall, and several hours to shoot. Ashley, my favorite model, answered me in minutes. We set the shoot up for the next day. When we were done, she told me that once a year, she is going under a waterfall with an umbrella, because its that much fun.Time
This was late morning. Ashley is facing West and I wanted some light, but not direct sunlight.Lighting
I used a Speedlight with a soft box. The light was 90deg to her right and firing across in front of her. I wanted the light to stop motion the water drops but not the waterfall. On test shots I found it also worked well on stopping the drops on the umbrella.Equipment
Canon 50D, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens, Tripod, Speedlight with soft box on light stand.Inspiration
It was an idea that was stuck in my head. I knew what I wanted out of the shoot, and I got more than I was hoping for.Editing
B&W and turned down the highlights a little. In my camera bag
Canon 5D mark2 and a 50D, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens, Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens. A pair of Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT with many light modifiers. Gitzo tripod. And WAY to much extra junk.Feedback
A willing model and willing photographer. There were times in this shoot that I was sitting in the water also. The lighting was trial and error. Most of all, try all the ideas you have in your head.
