Location
We were on an Alaskan cruise. This shore excursion was to float the Chilkat River through the National Eagle preserve near Haines Alaska. We saw several eagle on the trip and this one flew by us and landed in a tree. Our guide put the raft on a sand bar so we had ample opportunity to take pictures.Time
This was in the middle of the afternoon.Lighting
There was nothing extra ordinary about the lighting.Equipment
I was using a Fujifilm Finepix S1 with a 50x zoom lense.Inspiration
I was taking many pictures that day, especially of the eagles. This was the best photo of the day.Editing
About the only post processing I did was to crop the originalIn my camera bag
I have since upgraded my equipment. I have a Nikon D7500. I have four lensed available, an old Nikon 50mm, the two Nikon zoom lenses that came with the camera (18-55 and 70-300). I also have a Tamron 18-400. I prefer the two Nikon lenses. I also have a tripod, a cotton carrier camera carrier and a shoulder holster. I have a variety of filters including various ND filters.Feedback
The first step is to be where the eagles are. They can be found all over the country but going where they are more concentrated helps a lot. We also have to be prepared with our equipment ready at all times.
