I took this down at the American Fork Boat Harbor at Utah LakeTime
It would have been about 7 am on a very cold December morning.Lighting
The lighting was just perfect for this morning. The colors just popped nicelyEquipment
I took this with my NIkon D60 with 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 lens and a tripodInspiration
I wanted to show people that you can get some beautiful sunrise photos in Utah.Editing
Yes I did some post-processing to the photo. I took some of the rocks out of the water and brighten the colors up more and added a little bit of contrast to it as wellIn my camera bag
I always grab both cameras. My Nikon D60 and D7200 as well as my 18-200mm and 11-20mm lens. I grab an extra battery just in case. Last I grab my tripod. I don't go anywhere without it now a days.Feedback
Just go out and do it for fun. Don't make it feel like you have to do it. Want to get up early to catch the sunrise. Because not many people are willing to get up at that time to go and do it. And so many good photos can come from sunrises then sunsets in my opinion.
