While attending the 50th anniversary of the Colorado flood last summer, HawkQuest was there with a few of their rescued birds of prey.
This Bald Eagle was blind in its right eye. While at the event, it was wearing a hood. My son noticed that the bird kept turning its head like a sprinkler head. When he asked the handler about it, the handler told us what had happened, and then removed the hood. At that moment the eagle looked right at me. He will never be re-released into the wild, but will be used to help educate the public about these magnificent birds of prey.
