Thank you everybody! It is a fantastic place to shoot in the fall and worth making the trip if you ever get the chance.... Thanks for all of the kind words

Beautifully captured, the mood is infectious and induces tranquility, the clarity and DOF outstanding. You have my vote as the best pic in this competition

The colors are awesome. Honestly, this looks more like a painting, than a photo

Location
Taken at the edge of Maroon Lake at the foot of Maroon Bells Peak in Aspen Colorado...Time
At approximately 7:15amLighting
Maroon Bells gets it's name from the maroon color that happens across the peaks at sunrise... I shot this just as the light had started to peak...Equipment
Taken with a Cannon Rebel EOS t5i, using a Tokina 11-16mm ultra-wide Pro lens, on a Manfrotto tripod using a Pixel wireless remote...Inspiration
The beauty of Maroon Bells in well known, and I had attempted the shot a few days earlier but there was too much cloud cover and no sun ... I made the 2.5 hour trip to aspen a second time that week to capture the proper sunlight across the Bells..Editing
This was three images merged in photomatix and then processed in Adobe Camera Raw, and Photoshop using NIK and Topaz plug-insIn my camera bag
I have a large bag with camera, 4 lenses, tripod, crystal ball, and several flashlights and an external flash for light painting... Also a headlamp and colored gelsFeedback
Be persistent to get the shot you want... Travel, wait patiently, and go during interesting times such as during fall color change, etc
