Just used the natural light in the canyon at that time of day. A longer posture for motion blur also helped with the lightingEquipment

My friend and I are pretty adventurous and decided to hike up this canyon in 2-3’ of snow and ice. I wanted to shoot the falls for a long time and happened to drive nearby during a week of inordinately bad weather there for that time of year.Editing

You will need to be prepared to climb frozen waterfalls, chip ice off of a frozen ladder when entering the canyon, wade through icy runoff water, and break ice heading upstream as you go plus hike, wade and climb through deep snow as well. This was not an easy image to capture and was taken in extreme winter-like conditions. The hike is normally physical in good weather, and the conditions we faced were very much more difficult than normal.
