Stunning! I've never seen such gorgeously colored butterflies! Hard to believe the color is real. Perfect composition. Congratulations on your feature!

Are they mating? If so, no dating apps, no false rape claims, ..., SWEET!

Location
This photo was taken this spring on a beautiful fields in Istria.Time
As I remember it was early middday.Lighting
It was sunny day, but the light was not too harsh.Equipment
I used my Nikon camera and Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 macro lens. No additional lights involved and no tripod.Inspiration
It was an amazing situation, beacuse the meadow was full of this little bugs, some looking for a partner (I guess :-)), others already in the middle of the "action". I choose this couple because they formed this unusual M form at the very end of the blade.Editing
Not much really. I opened up a shadows a bit, because the wings in nature are darker than on photo and I wanted that blue colour pop up and to get more detailed structure. In my camera bag
That depends what's my goal when I go on photograph trip. In this case I was doing some portrets of the people working on the fields and also was chasing for some interesting bugs. So I only took Tamron 70-200mm macro lens with me. If I wonder aruond with no specific goal than I usually have 50mm 1.8, 10-20mm and 70-200mm lens in my bag. That way I can cover most of the situation.Feedback
I have done several photos of this two bugs to be sure I'll have sharpness on most parts of their bodies. I also tried different angles. Because in macro photography even light breeze can cause that your object will be out of focus or even out of frame and because DOF is so narrow, it's good idea to do several shots. I like to use macro lenses with longer focal range, because getting to close to this little animals may scare them and they fly away and also because it makes background even more evenly blurred. This picture was taken in the midle of the meadow with lots of grass all around this particular blade.
