Location
This picture was taken in Jaipur, India in an interior courtyard of Amer Fort during my first visit to India in 2010.Time
This was taken in the early afternoon on a warm January Indian day with a clear sky and bright sun.Lighting
This particular day had a bright sun perfectly located shining on one face of the courtyard corner. Thinking back on it, it was with pure luck that I walked through here during the right time of the day.Equipment
This was taken with basic DSLR equipment. I shot this using my Nikon D60 with the 18-55mm kit lens. Nothing fancy but with the right lighting conditions provides some excellent results in quality.Inspiration
This picture was taken at a time while I began getting into more serious photography. I really wanted to come back from my trip to India with some great images, so I payed particular attention to composition. I was looking for everything from scenic landscapes, urban, and abstract opportunities. Last year I decided to revisit and retouch a bunch of my old 2010 pictures from that trip and this one caught my eye a second time and was one of my favourites that I chose to showcase with my more recent captures.Editing
Little to no post-processing done on this picture. All that was retouched was adjustments to highlights and shadows. In my camera bag
I now carry a Nikon D600 with 3 lenses, the 18-35mm wide angle, 50mm f1.8, and the 105mm f2.8. I carry around an IR filter, polarizing filter and ND10 filter, as well as a few accessories such as a remote trigger, spare battery and spare SD card. I'll also lug around my Vanguard tripod for long exposures.Feedback
Just keep your eyes open and try to look at your surroundings in new perspectives. I'm personally always impressed when I browse images on Viewbug or other sites and find images of the most ordinary things taken with a new perspective. It drives me to observe my surroundings differently. Sometimes, like this picture, it's just a question of looking up.
