Time

Shortly before 4pm on a brisk December day. The sun was slowly getting low, creating the shadows I was waiting for.

Lighting

Natural light all the way. Late afternoon on a Winter day, soft sun to my right and shadows starting to build.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mark IV, Sigma Art 85mm f/1.4

Inspiration

I wanted to capture some different angles and views of Morristown with a rented lens. The focal length, 85mm, was much longer than my workhorse, 24mm, and I had to adjust and re-adjust many frames because I was too close.

Editing

Conversion to black and white, then basic adjustments with tonal curves, contrast, etc. All done in LightRoom.

When traveling light: Canon 5D Mark IV, Sigma Art 24mm f/1.4, spare battery, spare memory cards.
