Thank you very much! I am very happy with how this photo came out. I went there on different days and times, and had to be patient. But totally worth it!

Beautiful shot. Congrats! Really love it. Indeed a different angle makes the difference in making a really interesting photo.

Location
This is taken from a residential zone in Weehawken, where finding a spot to park the car seems impossible.Time
Around 6:15pm.Lighting
Available light only, no point in using a flash here. The amount of traffic makes a huge difference in light, thus I had to play with different exposure lengths. 30 seconds felt right for this exposure.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, Manfrotto tripod, Canon cable release.Inspiration
I wanted to capture a not-so-common view of the Manhattan skyline. This vantage point also gives a nice juxtaposition of the hustle and bustle of driving in and out of Manhattan, the apartments right next to the street, and the seemingly calm Hudson River and Manhattan.Editing
All processing done in Lightroom: tone curve, contrast, sharpness, saturation, etc.In my camera bag
Too much, always too much stuff: One camera body, several lenses (8mm fish eye, 17-40mm wide angle, 24-70 standard, 70-200 tele), ND filters, cleaning cloths, batteries, memory cards, rain cover, cable release, pen and notebook, granola bars, flash lights.Feedback
Be patient and try to understand how the variable light sources influence your photo. The varying density of traffic made this one a bit tricky to figure out, but in the end it clicked.
