Behind The Lens

Location

Outside of Grand Central Terminal in New York, NY.

Time

1:22pm

Lighting

Natural Winter light.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L

Inspiration

The Chrysler Building is, in my humble opinion, the most beautiful building in Manhattan. In this capture I focused on its height and lines.

Editing

The usual Lightroom stuff: conversion to black and white, contrast, sharpness, brightness etc.

In my camera bag

Lately I have been traveling light: Canon 5D, Canon 50mm f/1.4, plus a spare battery and memory card. And a lens wipe!

Feedback

Try to see beyond the obvious angles and shots. Take your time to walk around the building. Look up, look back, repeat. Then reverse and walk back around the building. You'd be surprised how different it looks when you walk the other way.
