Location
This photo was taken at Barrier lake, ALBERTA ( 1 hour drive from Calgary, Canada). I live in Calgary so I have the chance to explore the Rocky Mountains every weekend.Time
I took this photo during my first hike ever. I went there pretty early ( 5AM) to avoid the crowd. the 2-hour hike killed my knees but when I reached the top and I saw this scenery, the pain was gone. This photo was taken on June 6th, 2016 at 7:39AMLighting
I often hear that the perfect moments to shoot landscape photography are during sunset and sunrise. But Honestly, as a self taught photographer, I don't follow any this rule.Equipment
I used a Sony Alpha 6000 with a Rokinon 12mm 2.0 lens and a tripod.Inspiration
After shooting portraits for years, I wanted to get into landscape photography. Plus the Fact that I live near the Rocky mountains was a big advantage. so I started looking for places with breathtaking sceneries on google and I found this location. lakes, mountains..the perfect combo.Editing
I am not really a big fan of post-processing so I only use Adobe lightroom to correct the white balance and the contrast. In my camera bag
I have back and knee pain so I like to travel light. a Sony Alpha 6000, a Rokinon 12mm lens, a tripod and a cable release are all I need.Feedback
The best advice I can give to someone who wants to get a similar shot is to go out and explore, that is it! you won't see anything like that is you stay in your room. so go out there and Shoot!
