The Icy beach next to the glacierlagoon of Jokulsarlon. I wanted the moon to give some backlighting to the icepieces on the beach while I gave them a bit of front- and rimlight from my flashlight too. Turned out to be a killer shot and one of my favorites from my trip! :)

Location
The Jökulsárlon beach in Iceland.Time
Around 10pm.Lighting
This was a combination of an experiment and luck. I wanted to shoot the ice backlit by the moon and when I tried I forgot to turn off my head-lamp. I was very surprised by the result, so I tried out a few different positions on the beach to get the right composition. I found out that lighting the ice from the side gave a bit better effect. So within the 30sec exposure I lighted the ice both right and left, while the moon took care of the backlight.Equipment
Canon 5Dm3, EF 16-35mm f/2.8 II and my tripod.Inspiration
The scene itself askes for it. I knew I wanted some "icy-beach" night photos and I kinda just went along with it.Editing
Balanced the light and clone-stamped some of the streaks from the moving ice away.In my camera bag
