Location
In the rainfores 1400m above sea level , canton San RamónTime
In the morning around 9Lighting
Ordinary rainforest light which is usually not much. I don't flash little birdsEquipment
D3x, 200-400 nikkor,my hands and eyes. I find tripods heavy and bulkyInspiration
I love birds and there is alwaysa camera,in my old,Range Rover. So if i have the opportunity, i sit and watch for a while. If i see promising movement, i get out, the rest is in the hands of god.Editing
I cropped it and added a tiny bit of exposure. In my camera bag
D4, d3x, the 200-400 ,a180mm macro, a tamron 24-135 or a 24-70 nikkor a very old MF 18 mm nikkor . If i have to shoot an event that is different .Feedback
Be patient. Watch the birds, they will sit down eventually. Rest your arms with the weight of the lens on uour shoulder or a branch. Or put the elbows on your bonnet if you are, close to the car. Don't sit on old fallen trees, the ant will start biting just when you have the shot nearly lined up.
