Great capture of the water and the contrast in the colors is spot on!

Yeah, this is special Debbie. I really like how it's crisp and sharp in the foreground and transitions to the soft misty water. Nice job, congrats!

Location
I took this photograph at the Arboretum in Chanhassen, Minnesota. It is a beautiful park to visit. All kinds of flowers, and there is a couple of waterfalls there.Time
It was a beautiful overcast day just the way I like it to photograph waterfalls. The lighting was overall very even as not to get any hot spots in my picture. The time of day was 1:45 in the afternoon.Lighting
When I photograph waterfalls, I like the lighting to be overcast. It allows me to use a longer shutter speed which then gives me the beautiful blurred affect that I always look for in this type of photography.Equipment
I used a Cannon 10D digital camera. I also used an 8ND filter to make the water even more blurred. When doing long exposures I find it very necessary to use a sturdy tripod, and a cable release so that I have no chance of touching the tripod at all. I did not use a flash on this picture at all.Inspiration
I really liked the way that this waterfalls was set back in the bushes more. It was a darker setting for me which allowed me to use the longer shutter speed to get the look that I am always after. I prefer the blurred look for my waterfalls instead of the harsher droplet look which you would get with a faster shutter speed.Editing
I did NOT do any post-processing at all on this picture. I don't really like to use photo shop at all. I prefer to get it right the first time I photograph something. In my camera bag
I use a Cannon 10D camera body, and also a Cannon 50D, and Cannon 60 D that I always carry with me. I have a 70-300mm lens, a wide angle lens and a Macro lens that is 100mm. I carry a sturdy tripod with me at all times. I use a cable release to help so that I don't have to touch the camera when clicking the shutter. I also have in my bags several compact discs, and card reader and many extra batteries. I have a bag that can be used over my camera equipment in case it rains.Feedback
If you are trying to get a similar look like I have then make sure you scout out the area ahead of time if you can. Try to photograph on a cloudy day. Use a ND filter as well so that you can use a longer shutter speed.
