Location
This was taken on Fremont Street in Las Vegas back in June 2014. I was with a group of other photographers out doing street photography of interesting people.Time
This was taken in late afternoon somewhere in the 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. range.Lighting
This was shot in natural light. No flashes were used.Equipment
I used a Nikon D4 with a Nikon 80-200mm 2.8. No tripod or flash.Inspiration
There were several of us out shooting people on the street and when we came up on this person he was in a wheel chair. One photographer was directing him to do this and do that. When he brought his hands up to the sides of his face and closed his eyes I knew I had to take the shot before he opened his eyes.Editing
My post-processing was done in Adobe Photoshop CC and Nik Silver Efex Pro.In my camera bag
I usually carry a Nikon D4, Nikon 80-200mm 2.8, Nikon 28-300mm and a SB-700 flash. But now I will carry my new Nikon D810.Feedback
My advise would be to be patient. It is difficult to pick the right subject. You have to know what you are interested in to find the right subject for you. Everyone has different tastes. What I may like to photograph will be different from what someone else might choose. When you do find the subject that interests you, it is best to get your subject in a shaded area and preferably during the golden hour for best lighting conditions.
