Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a studio in San Leandro California on the black set.

Time

This photo was shot mid-day. As we were using strobe lights the time of day didn't really matter.

Lighting

On light on the model's left, one on her right. One above her and one behind me pointed at here. The lights on the left and right used 4' strip reflectors.

Equipment

I used a full frame camera with a 24-70mm lens. As all current cameras are excellent it does not really matter who made the camera.

Inspiration

I wanted to take pictures of a ballerina in flight.

Editing

Very little post processing was needed as the lighting was pretty good. Cleaned up a few spots on the floor and made sure her face was illuminated enough and that was it.

In my camera bag

I normally carry just what I need for the day (camera and one lens) along with a wireless trigger, extra batteries, extra SD cards and model releases.

Feedback

Work with the model. They may have far more experience than you. If you can get their inputs, let them help, you will probably have far higher quality work.
