The American Locomotive Company ( ALCO) built No. 201 A model RSD-4 for the Kennecott Copper Company in 1951. Kennecott used it in the company’s Nevada and Utah mining operations to pull ore to the smelter. The 201 is a diesel-electric locomotive. The 12 cylinder diesel engine turned an electric generator and the electricity drives motors which turned each axel. This one resides in Snoqualmie washington.
