Thanks, I'm very happy with the result. Another one is coming. Guillemins is made for a 12mm (FF) FE.... :p

Beautiful. It is similar com a work of the same architect in Lisbon, Oriente railway station. I love the works by Calatrava.

One of the very best, which I have ever seen with a FE-lens. I don't say that quickly, but here I really mean it. I just bought the Fish Eye and wanted to test it on this buiding. I did need the 12 mm (with ff-camera) completely and it was stunning to see the result. Since then (and because of other captures) I started to love this lens.

Photo was taken in Liege in front of the beautiful railway station Guillemins. A design by Santiago Calatrava....Time
In the middle of the night (23:45).Lighting
This is just a "normal" long exposure night capture. No flash, the only thing (as good advise to all night-photographers) you have to do is be aware of the high-lights, they ruin your capture (IMO). I'm familiar with the wide DR of Nikon (and the D800 especially), but still can this capture be seen as a proof that no HDR (most captures with HDR become too flat) is needed in this kind of circumstances (although the good !!! HDR-captures are eye-candy as well)Equipment
Nikon D800, Samyang 12 mm f/2.8 FE and a Sirui R-3203 carbon tripod.Inspiration
The great architect Calatrava. I've seen (and already took) many beautiful captures of thsi railway station. I wanted something original, something I didn't see until now. It's possible I missed it, but for me this capture is unique.Editing
I post-process a bit in PS. The most I do is in ACR. Some reduction of the high lights, some contrast (global as well as local) some black (to get the air black, ios normally orange). Some pre-sharpening overall. No crop, no other adjustments. In PS I added my name (not in this version) and do some artistic sharpening (High pass, on selected parts). That's it. ;)In my camera bag
D800 and often D7000. Always my Nikkor 24-70 mm f/2.8. When I do want the best sharp pictures there are, I use my primes (Sigma 35 mm f/1.4 Art, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art, Nikkor 85 mm f/1.4D, Nikkor 105 mm f/2.8G macro) (all FX-lenses). Wide angle my 12-24 f/4G (DX) or Samyang 12mm f/2.8 FE (FX) Tele: Tamron 70-300 f/4-5.6 SP VC Di (FX)Feedback
Read above. My advice for night photography. Be very careful to position extremely precise. A bit out of the middle, a bit tilted, a bit... whatever are hard to correct once the capture is made. Thanks for looking
