Location
During a visit to Dundee, Scotland in 2018.Time
We went early morning sightseeing in the City of Dundee and as I came around a corner in Panmure Street, I was greeted by the majestic Queen Victoria.Lighting
I was lucky that the sun was quite soft through the typical Scottish clouds (out of no where)! This gave me the best opportunity to capture without over-exposing!Equipment
I used a Canon 70D with a 18-250mm Sigma lens, no flash, F5.6, 1/160sec, ISO 160Inspiration
The pure presence that this statue had, made it irresistible NOT to take a shot of her!Editing
I post-processed into to Black and White. The colour didn’t grab my attention, but as soon as I switched to black and white the “presence” of the statue came back for me.In my camera bag
90% of the time I have the 250mm Sigma zoom and a 50mm Canon lens in my bag!Feedback
I you see a statue that intrigues you, take as many shots a you can and shoot from various angles. You’d be surprised what you end up with!
