Location
This was taken on a blistering hot day in Shoreditch, London. We were looking for somewhere in the shade that was away from the harsh sunlight but also gave the flavour of the area, which was why we were there in the first place.Time
Mid afternoon in midsummer.Lighting
Natural daylight.Equipment
My Canon 5D Mark IV plus trusty 24-70 lens.Inspiration
A ballet shoot always inspires me!Editing
Edited in LR and Photoshop to colour grade and bring out some parts of the image which were shrouded in shadow. In my camera bag
My camera, a set of reflectors, lenses: usually my 24-70 and my prime 85. If I know I will be shooting long, my 70-200.Feedback
Choose your location and check out lighting conditions before putting your dancer in the scene. Dancers need to be happy with the shot so even if you believe it is perfect, if they don’t like their pose, it’s a dud!
